Step Into Wellness: Red H.E.A.R.R.T. Announces 2026 “Red Bottom Shoes and Red Bow Tie” Wellness Luncheon
WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Community members, heart disease surviv
ors, and families honoring loved ones will gather for a powerful afternoon of healing, education, and inspiration at the 2026 Red Bottom Shoes and Red Bow Tie Wellness Luncheon, hosted by Red H.E.A.R.R.T. (Help Educate And Reduce Risk Today) on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Embassy Suites Gallery Ballroom.
At the heart of this year’s event are the voices of survivors and families whose lives have been impacted by heart disease. Guests will hear moving personal testimonies from individuals who have survived cardiovascular health challenges, as well as community members who are walking in honor of loved ones lost or affected by heart disease.
These powerful stories will highlight the real-life impact of cardiovascular disease and the importance of education, early detection, prevention, and community support.
“Heart disease doesn’t just affect one person - it affects entire families and communities,” said Cheryl Lindsay, Founder of Red H.E.A.R.R.T. “When survivors share their stories, it creates awareness, hope, and the motivation for others to take control of their health.”
A Legacy of Awareness in Winston-Salem
Since its inception, Red H.E.A.R.R.T. has been a beacon of health education in Winston-Salem, inspired by the legacy of Gail W. Lindsay. By turning the city’s attention - and even its bridge lights -red, the organization continues to demonstrate that awareness is the first step toward prevention.
Through community engagement, educational programming, and partnerships with healthcare professionals, Red H.E.A.R.R.T. continues to empower residents to take proactive steps toward healthier living.
Honoring the Legacy of Divine 9 Members
In addition to the survivor spotlights, the luncheon will include a special recognition of Divine 9 Seasoned Members, celebrating women (International Women’s History Month) and men from historically Black Greek-letter organizations whose leadership and lifelong service have strengthened communities across the region.
Their commitment to service, advocacy, and mentorship reflects the powerful role that community leadership plays in promoting health awareness and wellness.
Win Your Own Pair of “Red Bottoms”
Adding an exciting touch of fashion to the afternoon, every ticket purchased will automatically enter guests into a drawing to win a pair of iconic Red Bottom Shoes. Guests are encouraged to wear their finest red attire or red bow ties as a symbol of unity in the fight against heart disease.
